Effect of barium loading on the desulfation of Pt-BaO/[[Al.sub.2][O.sub.3]] studied by [H.sub.2] TPRX, TEM, sulfur K-edge XANES, and in situ TR-XRD
Article Abstract:
Desulfation processes were investigated over sulfated Pt-BaO/[[Al.sub.2][O.sub.3]] with different barium loading by using [H.sub.2] temperature programmed reaction (TPRX), transmission electron microscope (TEM) with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), sulfur K-edge X-ray absorption near-edge spectroscopy (XANES) and in situ time-resolved X-ray diffraction (TR-XRD) techniques. It is concluded that the removal of sulfur is significantly easier at lower barium loading.

Surfactant-free hydrothermal synthesis of highly tetragonal barium titanate nanowires: A structural investigation
Article Abstract:
Barium titanate nanowires synthesized with a surfactant-free hydrothermal method are characterized by various techniques such as transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), synchrotron X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and Raman spectroscopy. Rietveld refinement with use of X-ray powder diffraction results shows that the BaTiO3 nanowires are made of a mixture of tetragonal and cubic phases.

NO2 storage and reduction in barium oxide supported on magnesium oxide studied by in situ Raman spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
In situ Raman spectroscopy is used to study the mechanism of nitrogen oxide storage in barium oxide on magnesium oxide. This is done to examine the temporal changes in the composition of the storage material.
